The Idaho Science Teachers Association serves as the Idaho Chapter of the National Science Teachers Association. ISTA’s membership includes science teachers, administrators, scientists, etc. from across the state of Idaho. ISTA focuses on continually enhancing science education in Idaho, awarding outstanding science teachers in the state, and serving as a clearinghouse for resources through use of workshops, conferences, a newsletter, a website, etc. The ISGC has supported several ISTA conferences and special speakers, including such speakers as Robert Ballard and two Russian Cosmonauts. The ISGC has also served as a resource for member teachers (minigrant program) and has used ISTA’s dissemination vehicles to present several science programs to Idaho teachers and students.
