IDAHO ACADEMY OF SCIENCE....a spectrum of disciplines Organized in 1958, the Idaho Academy of Science (IAS) enrolls members from any and all scientific disciplines. Membership is available for individuals (including students) "interested in science," professional scientists, organizations that promote science, and institutions that employ scientists. Membership information is available at http://www.isu.edu/ias A multi-day annual meeting and symposium each spring features speakers of national stature, and it provides a forum for professional scientists and students to report papers and posters on their research. Cash awards are presented to students who present the "best" papers in each discipline. The Academy sponsors scholarship programs at nine Idaho colleges and Universities. Publications include the peer-reviewed Journal of the Idaho Academy of Science and The Retort newsletter for members. |
