The Discovery Center of Idaho is a hands-on science museum that has been sharing participatory experiences with Idaho residents and visitors for the past ten years. This Idaho science, technology and outreach organization has focused on helping to develop children into Idaho's future science and technology savvy leaders by ensuring that children experiencing DCI's programs leave excited and interested in science, by building children's confidence and a positive attitude toward science, and by supporting and complementing Idaho's formal science education programs. The Discovery Center has focused on providing quality K-12 and general public programs with support of the ISGC. This has ranged from classroom visitations, special science presentations, hands-on exhibits, trunks, kits, etc., unique public events (such as train stargazing), student workshops, astronaut/cosmonaut presentations, etc. DCI also houses a satellite NASA Educator Resource Center that provides access to free NASA materials for regional educators.
